Mr. Akinola has over 16 years of extensive combined experience in Private Equity Fund Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and Financial reporting. Tunde joined Blue River Partners in December of 2017 where he currently serves as a Director in the Private Equity Operations team. Prior to joining the firm, most recently Mr. Akinola was a Vice-President with JP Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank in Delaware where he was responsible for the market risk Value-at-Risk(VaR) calculation, monitoring, analysis and reporting of Regulatory Capital for JP Morgan Securities LLC entity. Prior to his most recent role at JP Morgan, Tunde was also a Private Equity Fund Accounting Manager within the JP Morgan Private Equity and Real Estate Fund Services group in New York City where he was responsible for the financial reporting and fund accounting functions of $2.2Billion Private Equity portfolio holdings.
Prior to JP Morgan, Tunde was a Manager in the Structured Finance and Derivatives group at Discover Financial Services where he was responsible for performing daily and monthly accounting, reporting, and administrative processes for the Discover Card Asset Back securitization program and related Treasury initiatives. He was also a Project Manager in the implementation of the Enterprise-wide Asset Backed Securities application for Discover Financial Services.
Prior to Discover Financial Services, Mr. Akinola was an Assistant Controller with DuPont Capital Management responsible for the day to day operations and accounting related functions for the DuPont Pension Trust Fund, a ~$4.0 billion PE Funds of Funds portfolio at that time. In this capacity, he was responsible for the update and maintenance of financial data controls for the Private Equity portfolios, review and oversee the third-party service provider reports/functions, monitor daily cash activities, and perform operational due diligence on prospective clients.
Mr. Akinola started his career as an Investment Accountant in Mutual Fund unit at BNY Mellon Asset Services (Formerly PFPC Fund Services).
Mr. Akinola received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance Management from Goldey-Beacom College in Delaware. He earned an MBA with Finance and Operations emphasis from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2008, and an MS in Taxation & Financial Planning from Widener University Graduate School of Business in Pennsylvania in 2015.
