Carl Seiler is a Managing Director in the Legal & Regulatory Compliance Group of Blue River Partners, LLC. His responsibilities include: providing fund launch services; designing, implementing and administering regulatory compliance programs; coordinating response plans for regulatory examinations and inquires; and managing project engagements for alternative asset managers including complex registration analysis and mock U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) examinations. Mr. Seiler’s clients include large and mid-size registered investment advisers to private equity funds, venture capital funds, private real estate investment funds, energy investment funds, hedge funds, high net worth individuals, and institutional investors.
Mr. Seiler routinely contributes to Blue River Partners written industry updates and participates in industry association panels, discussing current developments related to regulatory compliance and investor due diligence.
Mr. Seiler joined Blue River Partners in 2013 as an Associate and has participated in over twenty SEC and state regulatory examinations, inquires, and investigations involving private equity and hedge fund managers. Prior to joining Blue River Partners as an Associate, Mr. Seiler served as a research and motion drafting extern for the Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee in Dallas (UST) and assisted UST trial attorneys with numerous Chapter 7 and complex Chapter 11 bankruptcies.
Mr. Seiler attended Texas Tech University School of Law where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. As a law student, Mr. Seiler served as an Articles Editor for Texas Tech Law Review, was selected as a brief writer for the National Pretrial Advocacy Team, and was a founding board member of the Business and Bankruptcy Law Journal. Mr. Seiler is admitted to practice law in the state of Texas.
